3DFunPrintz was created from a challenge posed by a crafty mum to her son Carl.
She could not use the Brother ScanNCut universal pen holder due to dexterity issues and found it frustrating that Sharpie pens wouldn't fit.
After an extensive amount of prototypes, testing and refining by Carl, the Sharpie holder and Universal Pen Holder for the ScanNCut were created. It was shared with crafty friends and Facebook groups, and very soon Carl was inundated with requests. 3D FunPrintz was born.
The Pen Holders are 3D printed with PLA filament, made with cornstarch and are recyclable. Prusa 3D printers are used in our print farm and every pen holder is quality checked to make sure it meets the exact standards you expect from 3DFunPrintz.
The product range has expanded and 3DFunPrintz now manufactures Carl's precise, registered designs for universal pen holders for the Silhouette Cameo 4, Cricut Maker and Cricut Explore Air Series, as well as foil quill adapters for the Cameo and ScanNCut which are manufactured using a special heat resistant filament. Thousands of customers now own a 3DFunPrintz product and recommend them to other crafters.
In October 2021, Carl decided to close down the business due to changing priorities and commitments, and posted on the original Facebook group that supported him so much.
Michelle Barker, a fellow crafter, who had seen the penholders and the many, many comments and rave reviews, asked her husband, Roy, if it was something they could incorporate into their family design engineering business. After much discussion with their daughter Maia, and lots of video calls with Carl, 3D FunPrintz was taken over by our family business on 20th November 2021. Michelle and her husband decided to move on to "pastures new" and sold 3d Fun Printz to myself in January 2025.
My Name is Stuart and I purchased 3D FunPrintz in January 2025. I have read all the feedback and the posts on Facebook etc, and I know I have got big shoes to fill. I have an IT background myself and have been involved in Hobby 3d printing for a number of years, have decided to take the leap and branched out.
I am committed to continuing the high standards of manufacturing using the previous exact specifications and excellent customer service. I will also be keeping the trading business name as 3D FunPrintz.
I hope to not let any of my existing and new customers down, and I will endeavour to carry this brand on, and make it bigger and better (if that is possible after reading all the feedback!!)
